Beauty: Apple Cider Vinegar Toner
Saw this on youtube, and since I'm so into natural DIY products now, I went to try it out. It really simple, and so far, it's good! I'm loving it. All you need is apple cider vinegar (I bought Braggs Organic Apple Cider Vinegar unfiltered, $6.70 from Guardian), green tea (I used the normal Green Tea bags I have), and a glass bottle. Remember, you can only use apple cider vinegar. DO NOT use the normal vinegar your mum uses for cooking. It will burn your skin.
Apple cider vinegar is an antiseptic, combats viruses and bacteria that can cause infection. It's rich in alpha-hydroxy acids, helping to dissolve fatty deposits and dead skin cells. It also balance the pH level of the skin and promotes blood circulation.
Here's what you do:
- boil a green tea bag, and leave it to cool
- take 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, put into the glass bottle
- take 2 tablespoon (or more) of the cooled-down green tea
- you're done!
To use, dip a cotton pad with the toner and pat it on your face. The only con of this is that it's doesn't smell too good, but other than that, it's a pretty awesome mixture!
Benefits: balance pH level of skin, antiseptic, exfoliates and clear the skin, treats blemishes, refines pores, unclog pores, firms skin, anti-ageing
Skin Type: excellent for acne-prone & oily skin

Beauty - Bare Minerals
My face was acting up and had a terrible breakout. My facial therapist was commenting that it could be my makeup giving me problems and clogging my pores, so i decided to go hunting for more gentle makeup. Decided to try out mineral makeup, after hearing all the raves from friends and in the forums. Wanted to try everyday minerals, but since they are not available in Singapore, I decided to give Bare Minerals a try.
The SA at Sephora was really nice and patient and went through the steps of using mineral makeup. It seems abit more leh-cheh (troublesome) when you first got in touch with mineral makeup, since unlike the usual sponge-on-face-and-off-you-go, mineral makeup comes in powder format. You'll need to swill, blend and buff. After you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy. But i also realised if you're really in a hurry, mineral makeup may not be too suitable for you (or maybe i havent really master the art fully yet). Also, it's not easy to touch up on the go in the trains or cars since how on earth are you going to swill and buff?
I bought the starter kit, which is selling at $98 with purchase of anything in Sephora. Usual price is $143 or something like that i think. The kit comes with 1 bare Vitamins to prep your face, 3 brushes (1 Handy Kabuki Brush, 1 Concealer Brush and 1 Face Brush), 2 different shades of SPF15 foundation, 1 Mineral Veil Finishing Powder (which is like your loose powder), and 1 Warmth Face Color (which you can use as bronzer, contour or as a blush). There's also a DVD to teach you how to get started on mineral makeup. In addition to that, I also bought the primer.
I love how the foundation feels on my skin. It's so light, and you dont have that I've-make-up-on-my-face-and-my-skin-cant-breathe-properly feel. Coverage is ok. You just need to blend well, and it have pretty good oil-control. I've extremely oily skin, and with bare minerals, surprisingly, i dont need to blot that often, and at the end of the day, i dont really need much touch ups. this, i like.
so far, it's been working really well with my skin and i love it. i love how natural it looks on my face, as if there's minimal makeup on. It's one of the best investments i've made so far this year on makeup!
I've also just placed orders for everydayminerals. I'll provide my reviews on them soon.

Review - K Suites

K Suites, One of the latest KTVs in town, located at illuma, #03-20. At the shop front at one glance, you will probably not know that it's a KTV. To be honest, I personally thought it's a hair salon from afar, and when I'm somewhere nearer, I thought its a pub, with the pretty bar counter near the entrance.
I love the friendly staffs. Very nice, friendly and top-notch hotel-like kind of services which you won't get in PartyWorld, Top One, or even KBOX though K Suites and KBOX are sister companies.
The rooms are nice and cozy. There's blankets if you're cold, cushions and even bedroom slippers to keep you comfy and feel at home! This really gets a thumb-ups from me. I love the thought put into such little details to make the visitors feel comfortable.
At the corner of the room, there's a computer with internet access, so anyone who's bored of singing can go surfing on their facebook, youtube etc! The internet connection is surprisingly good! We were streaming tudou videos and it loads at a pretty good speed.
They also serves yummy food! Don't expect the typical cup noodles and nasi lemak u see in most KTVs. They serve very good chicken wings (must try!), crepes and vietnam popiahs! Prices are a little more costly at $10+++ per plate, but trust me, the food is worth it.
One interesting thing to note is they have the ability to let you record your singings and you can save and bluetooth it to your phone. amazing rite?
Also, I'm sure you must have the experience of unable to find your room after having a toilet break. What's nice about K Suites is their staff will always bring you back to your room! No more embarassing moments of walking or peeping into the wrong rooms!
Overall its a very nice experience. although its abit on the pricey side. Expect to may around $20+ - $30/pax.
Recipe: Spicy Buffalo Wings
We visited Sunset Grill & Pub some time back to try their famous buffalo wings. It's good, but the waiter keep discouraging us from ordering higher levels (we stopped at Level 5, and felt so disappointed as it's not hot enough for us), so we decided to make our own!
Ta-dah! Trust me, its awesome. I'm not sure which level our wings will ranked on the Sunset Grill scale but we all believed it should be Level 10 or more? The numbness that comes, swollen lips, and ultimate shiokness...you've been warned!!
Below is the recipe for these fantanstic, super-delicious wings. Surprisingly, it's a pretty simple recipe. Suitable for beginners!
You can decide the spiciness you want and fine-tune the recipe from there. For me, we skipped the Louisiana Hot Sauce and replaced it with Hot Tobasco Sauce (note: Hot Tobasco Sauce has the word "hot" on the packaging. If you do not want it to be too spicy, you can get the normal Tobasco sauce or the mild one).

Servings: Serves 5 pax (4 Buffalo Wings/pax)
Preparation Time: 10 - 15 mins
Cook Time: 20 - 30 mins
10 chicken wing pieces (one wing makes 2 pieces - the "flat" and the "drum")
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/8 cup of water
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper If you want it to be hot, add in some pepper or else, ignore this ingredient
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce If you want it to be hot, buy the extra hot Tabasco sauce
7 tablespoons Louisiana hot sauce (Frank's is the brand used in Buffalo) <--if you want super spicy, replace this with 7 tablespoon of Tabasco Hot Sauce. Warning, it may kill. 1 teapoons unsalted butter or margarine celery sticks (optional) blue cheese dressing (optional) Preparation:
- If necessary, cut whole wings into two pieces. Crack an egg on a bowl, mixed them up. Dip the chicken into the mixed egg, then dip into the bowl of flour to coat the chicken with it. One chicken by one chicken. After all chicken is done, deep fried it.
- Mix all the ingredients for the sauce in a pan, and over low heat bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally, add in appropriate of water to ensure the taste is right (caution: too much water will dilute and make the sauce too watery, add in additional cayenne pepper or Tabasco sauce to make it hotter if necessary) and then turn it off.
- After the wings are cooked, dip the chicken into sauce pan one by one to coat it with the sauce, left over sauce can pour over the chicken
These are always served with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing on the side.

Christopher Lee & Fann Wong gets Hitched!
You must be living in the mountains if you didn't know this yet. Their Wedding have been on the headlines almost everyday. I don't care what everyone says but I LOVE their wedding. It's beautiful and amazing! I don't really understand why the theme of Bollywood was chosen for the dinner, and Fann looks kinda wierd? different? with that shawl thingy on her head, but with that shawl thingy down, she looks amazing. Absolutely love love love her head gear. I'll love to have something like that on my wedding.

The $300,000 Bally dress everyone is talking about! My Colleague was saying she's wearing a HDB flat on her!

With the shawl down. Looking much better (imo).
I love her second outfit as well. The greek-inspired looking dress (pardon me if i get the inspiration wrong) looks so comfy and Fann looks gorgeous and totally relax in it. Quite different from the typical evening gowns in weddings (but probably cos this is the only time most brides will wear something so formal, while Fann gets to wear it every other day). The main thing is, i LOVE her hair! Simply & elegant.

If you missed their wedding broadcast on TV, you can catch it on Youtube now in 5 parts! If you're busy, catch part 5. It shows the funny 神雕侠侣 spoof. damn hilarious! All the best to the newly-weds! Congratz! :)
