Chanel Announces Concept Store at Marina Bay Sands

French luxury house Chanel announced in August 2009 that will open what they call a unique concept boutique at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore’s soon-to-be completed palace of entertainment.

The 7,600 sqf (706 sqm) boutique will be spread over two levels at the Marina Bay Sands Shoppes and will showcase Chanel’s ready-to-wear lines, accessories, fragrances and beauty products. Like the Chanel boutique in Ngee Ann City, this one will be designed by longtime Chanel collaborator Peter Marino.

“Chanel is very excited to be part of the Marina Bay Sands concept. It is a great opportunity to join the ultimate house of luxury with a truly innovative and creative retail environment. Singapore has a young progressive and energetic retail scene,” said President of Chanel Asia Pacific Vincent Shaw.

Shaw’s comments were echoed by David Sylvester, Vice President Retail Asia, Las Vegas Sands Corp: “ Marina Bay Sands’ Vision for Singapore has always been to create a spectacular retail experience so we are delighted and honored that Chanel has chosen Marina Bay Sand Shoppes for such an exciting store.”

Marina Bay Sands is scheduled to be completed in 2010.
